Port forwarding likely doesn't work because you missed a step or did something wrong-- or your router is broken/faulty. You can certainly make it work if you follow the instructions for your router (http://portforward.com) or call your ISP technical support and see if they can figure out what's wrong.


Maybe I'm mistaken but what does this have to do w/ mIRC adding UPnP support? Only one person needs UPnP support, the other person may use passive DCC. As long as one person has automatic port mapping setup, passive DCC will work.

And if you can't DCC yourself, your router is *not* the problem.
