Experimenting with the ports is fine. You can set any two consecutive ports in your router in the range of 1024-5000. 4441-4442 was just an example, you don't have to do that
As for "trigger port" I'm afraid I don't know - you'll have to contact the router manufacturer or hope that someone on the boards know
