Your whole argument of smilies opening doors for kiddies etc etc. I have news for you: the kiddies are already there, smiley support or not.
And again, you are not seeing anything else than before if this feature is implemented, I simply can't understand this isn't getting through to a couple of people.
Meaning if you see in a channel the smiley : ),
after implementing smiley support, this is going to be the same smiley for you : )
How is this going to bother you more than before when it's the same thing? It's only the kiddies who have it enabled who are gonna see the actual pictures, so why on earth would that bother you?
Can you honestly tell me that you are afraid that once smiley support is added, the channels you reside in are going to be flooded with "kiddies" who use a lot smilies? That sure is a weird way of thinking.
