ok, I've read all the replies and nothing is helping me troubleshoot this problem. I didnt give much in way of specifics in my first post but I will now.

I'm still getting * [10053] Software caused connection abort errors dozens of times per day. More often than not it wont even attempt to reconnect. As I said before, I have icq, usenet (bnr) and ftp (flashfxp) up and downloads going 24/7. NOTHING else is dropping connection but mirc. I've started running xchat irc client and its doesnt drop.
