IRCX added a lot of unnecessary crap (most of the arguments supported by PROP for example), i'm talking about slight changes to the IRC protocol, not completely butchering it.
I agree with that; but within all those features (unnecessary and useful) added by IRCx, some of the ones suggested in this topic already exist.
About /list &* working on some ircds; that's all well and good, but there's no standard to define that that's how it works. The suggestions here are for an extended IRC protocol, not an ircd.
I feel the same way; but, as I stated in the last paragraph of my last post, I don't think such extension will ever happen; it would have happened by now.
