I think it's also the fault of women liberals and barbie.
Women liberals tell women to be who they are, and not how a man would like them to be. And Barbie is the cause of so many anorexic and bulimic girls, which also backlashes into the women-lib's court, causing people to become ever more comfortable with being fat.
It would seem Europe lives by the notion: Live healthy, look good, and use drugs (like everything else) in moderation.
