You don't know what a meat pie is?

Well, a meat pie is basically what the term indicates though I sometimes ask myself the same question as quality, size and ingredients change depending on where you buy from.

Frozen pies, such as those bought in packs of six from the supermarket are absolute crap. Reading the fineprint on the packaging you'll find "Ingredients: Meat, flour, water, preservatives, etc"....

Uh huh.. What does "meat" mean? Beef, fat, offal, grissle, anything the mincer will grind gets chucked in and it is a disgrace to the institution.

If you go to a cakeshop you are more likely to get something more palletable. Chunks of lean beef in a rich gravy inside a nice thick pastry. Usually there is an offering, plain, curry, tomoato and onion, meat and vegetable, bacon, or mashed potato. They are the pies to go for and I make it my place to eat at least one a week. grin
