As for the universe going on forever, it's probably best not to start that topic up, there's lotsa clever people here who'll give their opinion on whether that's true or not...the conversation could go on forever <G>

The total effect of dark matter (the universes repellant force) is greater than that of gravity thus meaning the universe will forever expand. After a while, all the stars will nova, filling the universe (such as it will be) with a sea of radiation. Joy.
