I set my mIRC to require a password when I start it just so I don't start the same copy of mIRC (and to keep others from running it if I forget to log out of Windows).

Tools -> Options -> Other -> Lock

Added benefit is you can CTRL+MINIMIZE and it will require the password to restore mIRC.
