Hello,

I recently switched PCs from an AMD Athlon 700mhz to a P4 2.8ghz and I am noticing signifcant lag within mIRC when I click on any type of options menu... be it the options button in the toolbar or dcc options from the menu. It either takes quite a few seconds for it to pop up or I have to alt-tab, switch windows and come back for it to come up. I experienced zero lag or problems on my old Athlon 700mhz and everything would pop up instantly. It is annoying on my new pc however and was wondering how I can remedy the situation? I am running XP HOME SP1 on my new pc, and used to run Win98 SE on my old. Thanks.

This is just a guess, but do you have the firewall option on in XP? It could be that slowing things up. I had similar problems when using XP's internal firewall.

If I understand you correctly, you have mIRC open, and click on an options menu and that menu opening is what is 'lagged'.

That isn't a firewall or mIRC issue, best of my knowledge, it's how your computer is handleiing opening of dialog menu's. Do you notice this delay in other applications ?
