When you right-click a switchbar or left-click a window's icon, you are presented with the Logging menu option.

When you select OFF in this option, it turns logging off.
When you select On in this option, it turns logging back on.
Selecting Clear deletes the default log.

The only problem here, is that mIRC requires you to select a filename that the channel will be logged to, when you turn logging back on. If you do not select a filename, logging will not be turned back on. This prohibits the user from allowing mIRC to log to the default date-cycled filenames.

The only way to allow the channel to log normally, is to close mIRC and open mirc.ini and delete the contents of the [logging] section.

Accepting the proffered filename will in fact log to network/dated logs. smile

Hmm, interesting.

Perhaps an option Default should be added though, so this doesn't override one's default logging preferences.

Err well that is what happens already, I didn't mean it over-rode those settings but that it used them. smile
If you accept for instance "status.log", then the logfile will be 'SomeNet\status.20040303.log' if network and dating is turned on, 'status.20040303.log' if only dating is on, 'SomeNet\status.log' if only network is on, or 'status.log' if neither are on.
