Sometimes my mIRC Crashes for no reason at all. This is the error message I get;

MIRC caused an invalid page fault in
module MIRC.EXE at 0197:0042cbe4.

That error occurs when /close is used to close DCC fserve/chat windows, see this post just below yours for a work around.

I have had the same problem. Unfortunately -- I have experienced it on mIRCs that do not run fserves. I cann't verify it is the exact same error, but regularly when I come ghome from work, one of the mIRC's that ran when I left in the morning will have crashed.

0042cbe4 seems to be the telltale number for the /close bug, like 004EDF60 was for the 6.0-6.11 exploit.

I have done what that other guy in the other post said, and my mIRC has been on for the lat 10 Hours without no problem, I wanna know how long it will go, It should of crashed by now, I think it might be the /close problem. If it goes for like another 10more hours then I know it is the /close problem you in the next version of mIRC they should fix it.

mIRC just crashed and I put that
on *:Serv:*: * etc script in my remotes.
