When translating mIRC options into Russian, I encountered the difficulty of writing some category names so that they looked clear enough, but concise and aesthetically pleasing.

The "DCC" category will most likely have to be left as it is in its original name. In this case, it would not be bad if we had an info icon/button, when hovered over, a pop-up window would appear explaining what this category is for and what it allows you to configure. And so that in the future all information text in this window can also be translated and supplemented.

Example:

Something similar would also be useful in the "Connect" category and perhaps elsewhere where additional explanation of the settings is needed.

In addition to the above, I will give another example. If you open the “IRC” category in the mIRC options, a field opens in the dialog with a set of parameters that have a fairly short description. Unfortunately, even after translating the text, this does not give the user a full understanding of what mIRC will do after enabling some of the parameters from the list provided.

Therefore, it will be extremely useful if the user has the opportunity to hover over the info icon to see a scrolling pop-up window that will contain a more complete description of each item of the options parameters. Currently this information can be found here: https://www.mirc.com/help/html/irc.html
But this is inconvenient if the user does not want to resort to opening the browser every time, and besides, he will again see the displayed text only in English.

Visual example of my idea:

This will probably need to be added wherever there is a brief description of rather complex settings that would be difficult for a new mIRC user to understand.

Thanks for your comments. What you are describing applies to any language, including English :-)

The settings in most of the dialogs are descriptions of features that would make little sense to a user that has no experience with IRC because many of them refer to behaviours that can only be understood after using mIRC/IRC for some time.

There are no plans to add information icons to all of the dialogs to explain their features. That is the purpose of the help file and the help button in the Options dialog.
