I'm trying to connect to a Freenode server securely. The notes on Freenode say to use port +7001 for an SSL secure connection, but I must be missing a step because I changed the desired port to +7001 and now I'm getting 'unable to connect to server (connection refused)' ? Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

UPDATE-- I was able to utilize the proper SSL port and am now showing that I'm connected secure and my "mode" is listed as +Zi, but my hostname is not cloaked like I thought it would be with that sort of connection...?

2nd Update- I later learned that you need to register via /msg NickServ REGISTER password youremail@address.com and then request a cloak from one of the admins. Noted also was that while this will cloak your identity and ip address, your ip address can be discovered by other means...
