Alt+O, Connect, Add Server Button ...

In this Add Server window can you please put a drop down menu next to the Group text box to select which server group I would like to add the new server to. also put an option to enter new servers manually (like the way it is now)

or

Assume that in the Connect section, you have selected an irc network. ex. ChatAus . then when you click on ADD it copies ChatAus into the Group text field. all you have to enter is the new irc server, description.. or again, have an option of having a drop down menue next to the Group text box.

The whole server dialog/servers.ini could use a little work, but I agree, mIRC should be able to assume the group you're going to add is equal to $network, or at least offer a drop-combo that one can type into or select from.

However, while we wait... you can /server -a irc.server.com -g GroupName -d Description etc etc...
/help /server will give you more info.

I also wish there was a way to grab a server name from a group via identifier.
$networks(Group/N [,N]) == irc.server.com
