Hi, I'm developing a asp.net application and the client has askedm me to include an Instant messaging into it.
I have some questions.
1.-Can I embed this into an ASP .NEt app with my own look and feel?
2.-I would like to know how is connected, but the sign should be automatically based on the credentials the user has for the asp.net app.
3.-Do I need a database to store the users?
4.-Can I know from my app when the connectivity is lost?
Thanks

1. Absolutely not

Which makes the rest of the answers pointless.

mIRC is not .NET, is not embeddable and is commercial (not free) software. Even if you did manage to embed it somehow, you would be violating a whole host of license agreements unless you paid the author royalties probably exceeding the cost of your contract.

Implement the IRC client yourself, or use an IRC protocol library, not a full client.

i think u can use com in .net, so that would be an option (if mIRC was com open). also, im sure theres a fair amount of implementable .net clients anyway; there also is mibbit.com which is an ajax client

This is not the signature you are looking for
