Thanks DaveC for your input. yes, I closed Mirc then replaced the mirc.ini file after backing up a copy of the mirc.ini file for comparison.

What I have noticed when the problem occures. I was sending 4 files then I recieved the dreaded Software abort code my connection to the internet was interupted. When mirc logged back on to the network. I tried to restart the files and they would not connect. Thats when I had to replace the mirc.ini file.

I will try your suggestion of opening up more ports. concidering I am using other programs besides mIRC.
