I've found a dozen of internet links that describe how can mIRC version reply be turned off or even faked by /debug
Personally I respect Khaled and his opinion not to let (l)users to change this reply, but I also think there is more fun in changing it
if the /debug is to complicated for you, then just install the firewall, the one that lets you catch the IRC protocol messages, and just put the Version privmsg to ignore, and you'll make it..
