Could someone direct me to mIRC server that has Karaoke cd-g downloads. Please provide a link if possible. Thanks for the help. adg

This forum only helps with mIRC itself, and not with the downloading of copyrighted files.

this forum is mainly about mIRC, irc and other related topics. But we still don't help with illegal downloads, troll.

I never meant to get "copyrighted files" I need to know if certain songs are on cd-g format for purchase and where I can find them quickly for karaoke KJ gigs in Vegas. Some people tend to judge others too quickly based on their experiences.

Yeah, and some people tend to use silly excuses when they specifically asked for downloads.

It's worth noting, mIRC isn't a file trading program. The reputation mIRC gets because of how it's used, people don't understand it's for chat, and then get further confused when we don't help with using mIRC in that way.

IRC is not the best way to obtain files, and nor is mIRC/DCC the greatest way to do it either.

nalaalan, the fact that this is a general discussion forum is irrelevant, it doesn't override the general forum policies/rules. You constantly saying it and posting things to try and make a point is getting old, and clearly others are getting annoyed too.

nalaalan has a point. and he has every right to express that as many times as everyone says that file sharing is bad.
as to the original poster. if you wish to actually purchase kareoke (think that's it) music in the format you desire. try searching google. also. the "GENERAL DISCUSSION" forum is for general discussion. not many people know about kareoke and its formats. but sometimes you get lucky. so just try my suggestion and good luck

P.S. you may also want to go to www.netsplit.de and do a search on kareoke channels. maybe if they exist you will find what your looking for

Uhm, no. Stating that this is a 'general discussion' forum isn't part of the forum rules, it's an opinion (or rather, obvious fact) that keeps being given, quite deliberately to start arguments. Stating that file sharing is 'bad' is also an opinion, however, we don't help with illegal file sharing on this forum, which is what is stated over and over again - and it's repeated, because people keep asking about it, so we have to keep informing.

The fact that this is a general discussion forum doesn't mean it's a place where people can ask things that we don't help with.

since when do we not help with kareoke? lol... and we don't state that its "General" to start a war. thats a fact. its known, and its plain and simple. I am not fighting with anyone.. just gave my help and stated a aggreement. tis all

on what you said about no rights. what can we go by? what can we say. what cant we talk about. should we have a sticky in the general topics on whats appropriate and whats not? because people seem to have confused ideas on what is general and what isnt. going by the description of the forum general discussions. it says mirc, irc and other general topics. what goes into the "other general topics" category?

What I was trying to say is, taking part in this forum is a privilege, not a right, therefore, if the people that the administrators have put in charge of moderating the content of this forum (the moderators) disagree with something you say/do, you shouldn't argue with it.

As for the actual question, I don't really think anyone minds if you post topics that have nothing to do with mIRC as long as it doesn't break the forums rules, and it's not something that nobody wants to see/read, like spam.

Yes, you can ask...but considering that this is mIRC's msg board, obviously we focus on helping with mIRC and IRC related things, so you may not get much help with totally unrelated issues. Most likely, you may be given suggestions to find the help you need, for example checking google or another search engine for resources relating to the problem or places to search for channels that may be able to help you.

Beyond that, with all the infected websites and puters, downloading things from strangers isnt safe, and it should be understandable why we are very cautious about allowing urls for such things to be posted here, legalities aside.
