i have finally found a remedy for the unable to connect issue caused by the linksys wireless router.
i found it at this link click

I tried everything else anyone has ever suggested. and this is the only one that works.

Can anyone here please update these instructions for the WRT54G and mIRC 6.16? My check boxes and tabs are different.
One of us can logon to mirc fine but two logons, and one times out.

The Local Info and IdentD options have not been moved, however, the DCC port options can be found in
ALT+O

>
Options
>
[Advanced...]
.
I cannot help with 'translating' that document to the WRT54G.

if you go to the link i posted in my first post above. you will see there is linksys firmware version 3. thats for the linksys wireless
G series. try that. assuming that ur using the wireless G series.
