Hi, I'm using mirc to retrieve infomation in worksations I manage. My script works fine.

When a user try to shutdown the computer, I have an aplication that Avoid that,
I need to stay with this aplicatione for other features it has
when a user try to shutdown the pc, my aplication stopt the shutdown but mirc just get closed, and I don't want mirc ask the user if he really wan to exit mirc.
The reason I don't want mirc to ask anything is cause it's hiden with a dll

is there anyway to avoid mirc to close? or just make mirc wait seconds and check if the shutdown signal is still active

thanks

sorry for my bad english blush

Why would you want mIRC to be hidden like that, seems to me your doing somthing that shouldn't be done..

You have some nerve coming here and asking this.

Managing workstations with mIRC, by a hidden .dll which you don't want to show when the user shuts down his computer. Yeah, that really sounds legit. What a pity for you that mIRC asks to be closed down. Oops, then they'd find out, right?

*Cough cough*

This sounds very much like you are stealing people's bandwith without them knowing it. I've heard of those hidden mIRC's running in the background without the user being aware of it. The hackers make those people connect to irc to act as XDCC bots.

Please close the door on your way out.

Gone.

Shades of 1984... big brother is watching. I doubt you will get any assistance particularily since you seem to be *watching* the activities of other users. As long as they don't do anything like destroy your equipment you shouldn't be snooping on their activities... if you're worried about porn or illegal files then don't have mIRC or any other program assessible for file downloading on those workstations.

As to your question I don't think so.

Just my 2 cents worth,

Even when using legitimate site-monitoring software on the SERVER (NOT the workstations) you still should be informing the users they are being monitored... Let alone this...

Then again if everything is valid and fine with the users, why would you want to hide it?

And still why do I bother even writing this?

Maybe I wake up one day to notice that all my life was just a dream!

You were bored?... laugh

Glad I don't work in an office environment anymore... trained for it... did it and now I got the t-shirt to prove it.

I own a cybercafe and I use that mirc to check registry entries
that tells me if the user has disconected the webcam

$ $+ calc( $ $+ dll(registry.dll,GetKeyValue, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\P1110VID\Enum\\Count)) $&
$ $+ calc( $ $+ dll(registry.dll,GetKeyValue, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DCamUSBUVT\Enum\\Count)) $&
$ $+ calc( $ $+ dll(registry.dll,GetKeyValue, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\PCCam6029\Enum\\Count)) $&
Those 3 are the 3 differents models of webcam I have

This week they stole 2 webcams, the computers are in other room, and sometimes i'm busy or alone to go and check that the machine is complete

when connection is lost, my mirc tells me that user shuted down the computer

Nobody knows how to help me??, if u want I can send you all the code and ini's I use, so u can belive I'm not doing something illegal

and of course is stupid to try to stop the shutdown of a hacked user, if windows doesn't shut down they have a wire
lol
