haven't been here for awhile so sorry if I have missed threads about what I'm going to post now, I did a search and found nothing... so:
when you /haltdef Notify and Unotify events mIRC doesn't only halt text, but also all the associated options, like sounds and whois. I know it can easily be scripted, the question is shouldn't /haltdef halt only text, as explained in the help file :P


And all I need now is intellectual intercourse, a soul to dig the hole much deeper

Well although it says it halts default text in the helpfile, in practice it does more than that. For instance in an ON OPEN event it will prevent the window from being opened. I think it's better that it halts all default behaviour - otherwise it would be impossible for someone to stop those sounds if they wanted to.


Spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and stupid comments are intentional.

um, they can always remove them in the notify options dialog smile
