From what I understand:
1. If you want to automatically join a channel when you connect, you may include a /join #channel line under your perform options (Connect > Options > Perform)
2. If you want the Favorites list to pop up when you connect to a server, go to Favorites > More... > and check the "Pop up favorites on connect" box

Hope it helps.

In peace and good thoughts,

There are a couple of methods you could use to automatically join channels when you connect to IRC.

Firstly, mIRC has a built in 'Perform' section in it's options - this section will automatically perform commands when you connect. To access it, go to:

ALT+O > Connect > Options > [Perform...].

In the white box put the /join command and then check the box at the top so Perform is enabled. To join multiple channels, specify /join #channel,#channel2,#channel3 and so on.

You can also do this via scripting although it's unnecessary due to the Perform section. You may like to see this thread for som examples.

Hope this helps.

Don't forget about the channels dialog mentality! ;d

See how to access it here.

That is odd behaviour, when you join channels with Perform it should make the most recently joined channel active. Do you have any scripts loaded? Does this happen in a fresh install of mIRC?

The only thing I can suggest to determine if it's a script or not is uninstall the scripts from your mIRC or install a fresh new mIRC from this page and see if the problem persists. If it doesn't, then it's the script's fault and you'll have to take the issue up with the script authors.
