Hi!

If mIRC is minimised, is there a way to make mIRC flash when ANY message appears in a particular room?

Thank You!

There are a few flash options in mIRC already. Go to mIRC Options:

ALT+O > IRC > Options

and if you want mIRC to flash when you get a private message or channel message, check the appropriate boxes. I do not believe this will flash when someone joins the channel, but you could easily set this up with a simple script, one example being something like;

on *:join:#:{ flash JOIN }

THe /flash command makes mIRC flash in the taskbar, but only when mIRC is NOT the active application. See /help /flash for further information/options.

Hope this helps :-)

Regards,

Thanks Chris!

I can't seem to see the options under Alt+O for flashing for everytime a message appears.

I have a chatroom called "test" - how would I use the /flash command to flash for every message please.

Thank You

Make sure you have the latest version of mIRC (6.15 at the time of this post) and then press ALT+O (Or go to Tools > Options in the menu in mIRC). Then, on the navigation bar on the right click on the cross next to 'IRC' and under that appears the word 'Options'. Click on that. On that screen there are several options, but under 'Flash on:' check the box saying 'Channel message'.

If you only want the flash to activate on one channel, right click that channel name in the switchbar (the bar where the channel names appear0 and click on the word 'Flashing' in the menu.
