mIRC should be IPv6 enabled in the next release! Windows supports it natively now.

No, no it doesn't. Windows XP supports a PRERELEASE of an IPv6 stack. It is by no means a final release, and it is ONLY supported by WindowsXP and Windows 2000. That is hardly "natively supported"

There are numerous posts here about IPv6, use the search feature, Feature suggestion forum, expand the date range to see what others have commented

Personally i don't see a point in using IPv6, while you can IRC from v4..
IPv6 on IRC == abuse, ban evading and very_long_vhosts

not true, currently what I see is that the users with ipv6 are less abusive than those from ipv4 (it could be that there is still not malny people using ipv6)
As for long vhosts you can do exactly same with ipv4.
And is pretty easy to block long vhosts for ircadmins.
Usually you can easilly check how big ipv6 class user owns, and what is her real ipv4 address (it's for 3ffe:: amd 2002:: addresses).
Since many ircops k-line entire class for abuse, I'm sure that ipv6 is less abused.

/mode # +b *!*@*:*
this is effective even if the user has a hostname that resolves to an ipv6.

Good philosophy, see good in bad, I like!
