Hi all.
I got this strange message from OperServ and got killed.
however when i joined the server again without changes whatsoever i could connect again. Here is what i got:

[13:15] * Enforcer appears from the mist around you
[13:15] * Enforcer Shows you a warrant: OperServ (Session limit exceeded)
[13:15] * Enforcer Politely escorts you out from the Network

[13:15] -irc.irccity.nl- Quote: Access denied--nah nah na nah nah!
-
[13:15] * Aaron- sets mode: +ix
-
[13:15] -OperServ- The session limit for your host xxxxxxxxxx.xxxxxx.xx.home.nl has been exceeded.
-
[13:15] * You were killed by OperServ (services.IRCCity.nl)
-
[13:15] Closing Link: Aaron-[xxxxxxxxxx.xxxxxx.xx.home.nl] services.IRCCity.nl (Killed (OperServ (Session limit exceeded)))
-
[13:15] * Disconnected
-

i removed my IP myself on this copy.
i've been several months on that server 24/7 without this happened before. What can i make of this???

I've never seen this message but perhaps others have - OperServ is unique to the network that runs it, it has nothing to do with mIRC itself. For it to be sorted, you should wait 12-24 hours to see if it expires, and then contact an IRC Operator online. If it doesn't expire, you need to check out the network's website and see if you can find a contact email to speak to someone who knows about it.

To reiterate, this is not an mIRC message or error, and mIRC has nothing to do with OperServ disconnecting you - you'll need to speak to the network administration.

G'luck!

session limit refers to the max amount of users allowed from your hostmask or IP.

If you've been killed by operserv for exceeding it, the usual setting is to allow 3 people with the same hostmask, and to kill the 4th.
If you have no clones, "ghosts" or bots on that network, try contacting someone related to the network because somethin funny is going on.

I thought that might be what it is, but because most networks deal with clones with an automatic disconnection rather than a clear OperServ kill, I wasn't sure whether to suggest it smile

Thanks for the info though, I'll remember that for the future.
