I've seen this be done in mIRC Scripts before, I'm wondering how could I hide a window, like for instance channel windows and server windows, where they would connect to a server and join a channel but you wouldnt see the windows appear on your mIRC client..

you might be talking about custom windows.

Sorry, but

a) I've never seen a script that does this.
b) I've never heard of a script do this.
c) I don't think scripts should do this.
d) Scripts that force people to join channels are annoying.
e) Scripts that hide the fact they are doing this are annoying and sly/malicious.

Could you describe exactly why you're wanting to do this?

I don't know of any way to join a channel without at least seeing a flicker. It certainly couldn't be hidden from the person if they /whois themselves. Connecting to a "hidden" IRC server sounds even worse to be honest.

Don't want to sound too accusative, but I'm sure you can see how it looks a little odd when someone wants to make a script that connects to a hidden IRC Server and join a hidden IRC channel without anyone knowing about it!

Regards,

Mentality/Chris

Just use /window -h #channel or /window -h "Status window".
If you want to show it again, use /window -w #channel.

Maybe you think ALT + F1 ? It will hide all windows in mIRC 6.14 except status window.

That will work to an extent but still allow the screen flicker that Mentality described. There is no way to do this without someone being able to notice that something is not quite right.

Along with Mentality, I am at a loss as to why this function (hidden window) would be useful. Apart from distributing a script or trojan with the intent of setting up a clan of warbots I can't imagine what use there is, excuse my narrow train of thought in this respect.
