Ok, so /setlayer doesnt work any more? Why cant I use a DLL to change window transparency though? I've tried transparency techniques with coding DLLs, and it doesnt work

I'd like to see mIRC regain this ability and go a step further, full transparency of the window whilst maintaining full visibility of the text, same as X Chat.

Windows only supports transparency for top level windows. The same goes for mIRC, the window must be desktopped, And mIRC still supports that.

//window -odC @test | /setlayer 150 @test

Perhaps you're referring to the main MDI window but I doubt you would be trying to make that transparent?

I'm referring to channel windows, any window with an editbox in mirc laugh /setlayer obviously doesnt work, but I cant even get a C++ coded DLL to make a window transparent.

I tried some testing, and used the above mention function, then used my dll, DmU.dll to Undesktop the window. The window remained transparent within mIRC, but it was immobile. It could not be moved. I could click the switchbar button to activate it, but i couldnt click the titlebar button or anything. I had to /window -c to close it. This opacity thing needs to be fixed.
