I am using a chinese Windows XP (Traditional Chinese), and as said in the readme.txt, the first time I run the mIRC 6.14, mIRC auto detectes my OS as multibyte OS. Just, there are Multibyte OS and Multibyte OS.

mIRC sets then by default the SJIS//JIS translation for my system in addition to multibyte display/edit option, and the result is, error displaying of MSG and chinese nick/channel name becomes unknown / not exist for mIRC

Its great to auto detecte the OS, and hope to see a better tune in the next version of mIRC.

tks for reading (with my poor english)

mIRC have a lot of bugs in multibyte OS. I just submit a post to report a bug for Simplified Chinese
