I've been playing a while with the $com features and my suggestion is to add a checkbox to mIRC Options > Other > Lock to disable its usage, as you can bypass a /run command by using a simple WScript.Shell object.
If the COM dispatch * is fixed in the next version, a new sort of malicious scripts, trojans, etc... could spread and newbies who think disabling /run and/or /dll is secure will be infected.
