Is it possible to connect through mIRC to the chat servers from a school computer? Or is the password to the firewall required?

Hello Rassath,

I would say the best way to find out is to ask your network administrator... however, that may not be possible for you. Most schools prohibit such activity

Just so there is no misunderstanding, if a school or employer has blocked access, we will not help anyone find a way to evade that. Just as we ask ppl to respect our policies, we do the same for others.

While we are a help resource, helping someone get fired or kicked out of school isnt what we want to be part of

Greetings,

I'll try to sum up my last post ... it was edited beyond recognition.

Since mIRC supports SOCKS proxies, you might want to look into how you can use them. SOCKS proxies are not uncommon (and used in some schools). Some networks still honor the usage of SOCKS proxies, provided they're not abused. If you have questions on HOW to use a SOCKS proxy, consult your mIRC manual.

You can always contact me off of the forum. I see that one moderator lacks diplomacy. :-)

Regards,

John

Hello ParaBrat,

I'm sorry that you took great offense to it, but I call 'em as I see 'em.

Regards,

John
