Does anyone know how to fix mirc so that when you click a irc link on a URL that it tells mirc what server to connect too, it used to work but has stopped for some reason.

Make sure you have chat links enabled:

ALT+O > IRC > Catcher

check the "Enable support" box and for convenience reasons you might like to check the "confirm requests" box.

Make sure the irc:// link is in a correct format (see the link I posted).

have you added anything with the name "hotlink" ? cos if you making your own and make them wrong, then they will interfare with mirc's default hotlinks..

Not sure where this hotlink is and i'm not making my own i'm clicking some that are on these xdcc webpages

I checked the webpage that has the links and they look correct, it must be something in my mirc stopping it from triggering

No

You should not be using XDCCs in conjunction with mIRC - it is:

- illegal, and can end you up with fines. Big ones.
- A big way to get viruses.
- Against the very nature and meaning of IRC/mIRC.

However, type /remote off and then try an irc:// link. Try rebooting, then using the link. Also make sure you're using Internet Explorer with this service, it will not work with other browsers.

See if a Search runs anything up - expand to 'All Forums' and 'All Posts' in order to get the best results.

I will try doing a search cos that didn't work either, and for xdcc it's only illegal if the people are offering files that are illegal hence i avoid like the plague.
