From the help file:
/tnick <nickname>
Changes your nickname to a temporary nickname, without affecting your main or alternate nicknames.

However, if I have no alternative nick set and use /tnick from the RAW 433 scope before halting it, /tnick sets my alternative nick as the one I entered.
I just can't avoid having no alternative nick this way. I wanted to make mIRC completely ignore this handling, but it seems it's not possible.

This leads me also to suggest an option to disable alternative nicks handling. It's very annoying to many people I know, including myself. I can use /tnick while connected, but if I'm disconnected by the server, mIRC will still impose the use of the alternative nick when I'd simply prefer to get kicked out by the server until the timeout occurs to the ghost one.
I'm not the only one who doesn't like it, also it's just a matter of optionally disabling some internal handling I guess.
