Okay. Short and sweet - when you replace a computer and you use Mediacom High Speed Internet, you have to go to this one website and register that machine with them to be able to access the internet, even if all you really did was change ethernet cards. At that point, you get a new IP.

Anyway, I did that earlier tonight and now whenever I connected to a given IRC net, all it shows is my IP, and not a proper reverse DNS entry like always before. Help!

you prolly dont got one yet, if a isp makes a new hostmask it takes a few hours till its on all the dns servers on the world

try tomorrow again

You'll probably have to talk to Mediacom's tech support people. They are the only ones that can fix the problem you're having.

Hopefully your time on the phone with tech support will be less frustrating than the hours I've spent with them :-)
