DCC TOOLTIP BUG
I made a textfile called:

Code:
  "a b c .txt"

I use 6.12 and i DCC'd the file to a person. The DCC accept dialog comes up, and after he had accepted it, it initialises.

If I put my mouse over the DCC on the switchbar a couple of times, mIRC has trouble showing the Tooltip of the dcc and it crashes.

If I minimize and maximize the dcc it crashes aswell.

So basicly it's a tooltip bug, it crashes cause the filename it too long.

Just wanted to let you know, i'm srry if it's a mistake on my behalf.

btw i use winxp with no sp

Have a nice day!

heh, well i was curious about the mirc dcc bug, so i tested it on my brother and on myself. Later i talked to sMeller about it and i tested it on him, which made his mIRC crash aswell. Strange it doesn't crash on you guys.

If you are implying I was trying to crash others intentionally, i wasn't. TBH,
If I were a "dumb hacker"/shithead I would not have posted the bug on this forums.

hmm, on a side note. I can't actually dcc send a file cause i'm under a passworded router. Maybe it only crashes mIRC in the "I press the accept button but it doesn't dcc cause dcc server is not functioning" situation. grin

mIRC doesn't crash for me, but whenever I try to send a file through DCC (or chat) and happen to be behind a NAT router (or ICS), then it will cause a software abort (this was up until 6.12).

I suggest you take a look at forwarding several ports for mIRC to use as DCC ports, and configuring it appropriately.

ok, since i'm under a passworded router, (which i don't know the password off) i can't forward ports.

But i guess this bug isn't working on you guys. That's a good thing. But strange indeed. If you don't believe me, join #roughnex at quakenet and I can test it on you.
