hola, llevo usando el mirc cinco años y la verdad y no ha habido un cambio importante en su interfaz grafica, solo han cambiado muy pocas cosas, ojala haya un cambio significativo, seria genial que le agregaran cosas para q te vean en la webcam o de voz, no creen??

saludos

In case you hadn't noticed, the language used on this forum is english. That means if you ask a question in spanish (?), there is a minute chance you might be answered, but if you want an answer -- ask in english. I for one would be more than happy to help, but the only Spanish I know is uno, dos, tres, ola, and I doubt that helps much.

Though you may be correct in saying the forum is english, all users aren't There have been many of time where a user asks a question in english, and has mentioned "please excuse spelling/grammar" because they learned it as a second language. Saying they have a "minute chance" of getting a responce is not entirly true. Many of the foriegn users on the boards may have an answer.

Odds are in favor of him being able to understand english, but having chosen to ask in spanish rather than english because his english isn't too good.

I disagree. And considering how not one spanish speaking user has answered him yet (who knows what still is to come), so far I'm not inclined to change my mind about that minute chance.

Yup, english indeed is the preferred language here. Still I get loads of questions in all languages from all over the world regarding mIRC. From experience I learned to scan for words that give me a general idea about the question, and if it is not spam or other garbage... In this case quotes like "mirc cinco años", "interfaz grafica" and "webcam o de voz" motivate me enough to go to Babelfish to translate the text to english;
  • hello, I take using mirc five years and the truth and has been no an important in its grafica interface, single change have changed very few things, ojala is a significant change, serious brilliant that they added things to him for q see you in webcam or of voice, do not create?

From what I understand he tells us he has been using mIRC for 5 years now, and has seen no important changes in it's graphical interface. After some more comments he wonders why things like webcam's or voice havent been added, or if they will be added.

The answer of course is that making changes like that will change IRC in such dramatic ways that we (I for one) wonder if thats a change for the better. I'd rather see mIRC (and IRC) stick to text (and be one of the best text chat applications) instead of becomming one of the several half-working webcam/voice applications...

Hey Krejt, maybe it'd be a good idea to link babblefish to the homepage? make it EASY for people to seek translations (if/where possible). Just a general thought.

Now, if all of you English-as-a-first-language speaking people excuse me, I will translate Krejt's message (not literally, of course: just the main idea) for the person that first posted his/her message in this board smile (a.k.a chichifli)

Los cambios que tu senalas (o sugieres) no se han hecho en el mIRC porque, en primer lugar, son muy drasticos, por lo que se entraria a cuestionar si son para mejor. Muchas personas (just like Krejt here wink - por ejemplo, Krejt) piensan que es mejor que el mIRC se quede solamente con el texto (y no solamente este programa, sino que todo IRC), en vez de convertirse en una de las muchas aplicaciones que trabajan "a medias" con webcam y voice (Yahoo! messenger, por ejemplo)...

OK... that's it... thanks for letting me post this reply (my first reply!) in Spanish...
I hope to read you around smile

Thank you Macondo, that was very thoughtful of you. Personally, i would be hesitant to reply to someone using a translator program, since i wouldnt know if my meaning had been "lost in the translation", always nice to find someone who is fluent in the language in question.
