you can rename it, but the name must have mirc first, like mircmine.exe, or mirctesting.exe. There are other threads about this, use the search feature set to "all forums" and expand the date range. try using rename as search term or mirc exe

Purely out of interest, why do you want/need to rename mirc.exe anyway?

Check the licence details - distributing the executable with a script is a no-no anyway.

mIRC may only be distributed as the original distribution install file as distributed by mIRC Co. Ltd. The mIRC distribution install file may not be distributed as a part of any package, and may not have files added to it or removed from it, and none of its contents may be modified, decompiled, or reverse engineered.

(general): I liked the older (much longer) license agreements that included this first line...
  • [color:990000]The integrity of the original mIRC distribution file as distributed by Khaled Mardam-Bey is essential. mIRC and all of its related files must be distributed together in the original format. The mIRC distribution file may not have files added to it or removed from it, and none of its contents may be modified, decompiled, or reverse engineered.[/color]
Though not all regions may protect a program from being modified or reverse engineered, you still may not re-distribute these modifications as part of any package in whole or part. This is both for legal reasons of intellectual property protection, and for safety reasons to prevent virus/ trojan script distributions that may confuse mIRC users and scare them from using mIRC.

That includes changing 'mirc.exe' to 'blowscript.exe' and sharing it with your friends or the public.
