To my knowledge, mIRC only stores your registration info in the registry. It's not harmful in any way if you leave it there...
If you REALLY want to stop mIRC writing to your registry (and if you're using an NT-based Windows), use mIRC in a user account where you have limited permissions such as 'user' (Windows users should do this ANYWAY, mind). That way it cannot write to the registry...
