OP eclipse51 Nutrimatic drinks dispenser E Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 5	Hello, Since I've arrived at University I've been unable to connect to any IRC server. I've emailed them to check if their firewall had blocked the ports but they tell me that mIRC should be alllowed around it. Anyway, I've tried all the fixes that you mentioned in the Sticky'ed post and none of that has helped. This is the error I get: * Connecting to west.gamesnet.net (6667) - * Unable to connect to server (Connection timed out) - * Connect retry #1 24.207.0.200 (6667) - * Unable to connect to server (Connection timed out) and obviously it just keeps looping. While I'm temped to believe that the ResNet guys have no idea what their talking about, any suggestions you have would be appreciated. Thanks, Kris

They were both quite fast too: 100ms for Quakenet, 30ms for Gamesnet. Any other suggestions : Last edited by eclipse51; 16/10/03 06:08 PM.

I tried changing the "if not connected in" thing to a very high number, yet it doesn't seem to be taking effect (I have it set at 4 minutes, but it generally retrys after 30 seconds). On a side note, I found out today that I can connect to Kazaa...wow.
