why not make a complete pallete??(to crtl+k)
instanted of send crtl+kCOLOR_CODE
send $rgb format..
mirc can do something like that but only for local colors, changing one existing color by one of the pallete laugh

I can see how upgrading to a 256 color palette might be useful. But beyond that there's no point. The eye can hardly distinguish those 256 as 256 different colors. The difference between colors would be too small to be useful.

PS: I know mIRC has the ability to let you define your own palette, don't know if that is limited to 16 colors tho...

actually id like to see something like the defualt 16 colors now stay always the same ... and have the ability to set your own colors for anything above the 16... personally i think it would make personal scripting themes alil nicer. but im sure this wont ever change as to how the color pallet works being sent to server

problem is that these colors would only work for mIRC users and other clients would freak on it because they get wierd codes... zo other users will go insane with coded stuff they get on their screen hehehe

I noticed this with some special scripts which were made for mIRC... almost half of every line was taken by all kinds of weird codes which the script used to parse the lines with pretty (ugly in my eyes) colors and effects...

If it ain't broken, don't fix it!

I think it would be nice, though, if I could select by own _displayed_ colors using RGB values.

i.e. if I get sent bright pink text on yellow background, be able map them to different colors.

This would be useful even with the current color-scheme - when I have a black background and someone color-codes their text black, I could remap that to white, or yellow, or whatever I fancied.

But I'd still like to be able to VIEW things in colors specified by RGB values. Even if it was just in the mIRC Colors dialog, not translation of incoming color-coded text (though that would be nice too).

You can use /color <color index #> <rgb> to alter the coloring of one of the 16(0-15) pallet colors to a different RGB value.
