* Sorry about my poor english! *

It looks like nobody knows what causes this error, in this special cases.

Netsplits? No way to me.

Before I install mIRC 6.1, in case of netsplit I just disconnect, without this message. But when I installed the 6.1 version, my 6.03 version begin to show this messages of 10053 software error, causing my disconnection without netsplits.

Maybe this is some king of error in Windows registry.

I zipped the folder of my mIRC, uninstall mIRC 6.1 (and all possible others) from my system and then unzipped the mIRC folder again.
Now i'll see if the error not occurs again. Give me time.

I'm using mIRC 6.03 again.

Backfire from #Eskeleto at BRAS net .

I was using my mIRC 6.03 by hours now, without any problems. Then a friend ask me to see his script. She send me one zip file with the script folder.

When I open the mIRC of the script I see that's the mIRC what comes with the script is the version 6.1.

In 10 minutes my connection, on mIRC 6.03, get lost with the 10053 message.

I uninstall mIRC 6.1 again, remove the folder of the script and now I think my mIRC 6.03 is okay!

Oh, man...

I can't talk, because the 10053 occurs anytime. I tried to remove all mIRCs again, saving the folder of my mIRC 6.03 to one zipped file, and unzipping later.

Now it appears to be without error again. Let's see with time...

i've never had a problem with that when i have been online, the only times it happens is when i get disconnected from the net, i'm on dialup, and ever 2 hours i get disconnected and have to redial, so i forget i'm on a server and the net goes off and then i see that message, but i thought that was routine when getting cut off the net. shocked

I don't know what to think about this probem.
My connection is ADSL, and I keep it connected all day long.
Now sometimes the mIRC shows 10053 error. The BRASnet IRC network shows the quit message: "connection reset by peer".
I don't have a clue to explain this.

Don't you read anything tontito?

But now my mIRC 6.03 is fine!
Using mIRC 6.1 in my other computer of my network I have the same problem 10053, without netsplits or server problems (because here, in mIRC 6.03 I'm using the same server at the same time and don't have disconnected).

I wouldn't say that's the case, because i did ask a few people myself whether they've ever encountered it actually being connected to the net, and they said yes, and like me they use dialup. A case for Mulder and Scully it seems.

In various parts of Windows registry I see "path\of\the\mirc.exe" -noconnect

I know what it is. But I removed all. Nobody needs to explain here.

It appears to be resolved my problem.

You're not alone, it's not a dsl issue, I have cable, I also have 3 other computers on a lan, it's not an issue with servers, ports or anything else that I can find, I'm convinced it is a problem with mIRC. I went back to 6.03 and all is well again.

I had that error with 6.03 and XP. No problem with 6.03 or 6.1 on WinMe.

as is pointed out in this thread 10053 is a puzzler...some things work for some ppl and dont for others. Some have it happen in 6.1 and didnt in 6.03, others are the exact opposite confused
