Has anyone ever thought making a mIrc to mobile phone platforms, there are allmost non-good irc clients for Series 60 phones, whom operate on Symbian wich i think/know is a windows OS. And if it would be free, that would be good because the good irc clients are trialware and free clients are non good. For more info about Series 60 phones Nokia 3650/7650/N-Gage -> http://www.n-gage.com/R1/en/home.htmlhttp://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,4879,2273,00.html http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,4879,137,00.html Trust me, it would be great.

I'd like to know where the benefit would be in making a mIRC version for one specific brand of mobile. WHat are the Motorola, Voxson, Ericsson and Philips mobile owners gunna chat with?

So are you planning on having your mobile phone connected to the internet on your phone service? Plan on paying big phone bills?

Actually, I have 4000 free minutes monthly, and free weekends. If I used my phone for internet, which has been clocked at dsl speeds, I could have free internet on weekends (Aside from paying the isp for the use of an account. >:D

Maybe you do, but how many others? Writing a mIRC for one OS that is used by how many percent of cell phones (25?), so that a few users with your deal can use mIRC sounds like a sure way to lose cash.

I was not recommending it should be done, i was countering the comment about an expensive phone bill.
Personally, i dont think mIRC should be in another language. When you do things like that, many things start to happen. For one the amount of deveolpment for one language slacks, as whatever you add to one you have to add for the other. For the most part I can assume its not cut-n-pasting code. A block of code for one, most likely cannot be used for the other. Another would be bugs would most likely occur more often. You start rusing code for a deadline, and it turns out its a sloppy release.. Either thtat or the release dats just become father and father apart.
