Such a tiny suggestion I don't feel right making a whole thread about it, but anyway...
A keyboard shortcut for the Apply/Align ({ }) button in the Script Editor would be useful.
Spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and stupid comments are intentional.

seems like a good idea for me, so I don't need to keep clicking {} and moving my mouse.

He doesn't mean the brace buttons and no keyboard that I know of has a {} button. He wants a keyboard shortcut for the {} button in the mIRC script editor.

Good call, pheonix! I didn't know about that one.
02/02/2000 - mIRC v5.7
53.Control+L in Editor now opens the Load file dialog, Control+S now
saves the current file, and [color:#840017]Control+H[/color] now checks the brackets.

In belgium we use the "azerty" keyboard and there the {} are standard on it.

Yes, but on separate keys, not on the same key to check your brackets in mIRC's editor. qwerty keyboards have them too.

I'll be damned. Even though you have to be a pianist to hit Ctrl+H, it's nice to know

I motion to give the { } button a tooltip text "ctrl+h", that appears when you mouse over it.
Well. At least I won lunch. Good philosophy, see good in bad, I like!

I disagree, seeing as how none of the other mIRC shortcuts do this, I don't see why mIRC should add an inconsistency by making it display a tooltip only for {}. Meaning, "goto line" doesn't say ctrl+g, "find text". Additionally, the tabs in the editor don't say "alt+a, alt+p, alt+r, alt+u, alt+b" for each of the tabs. I'd say, instead, an "Editor" section should be added to /help key combinations and it should list all the shortcuts available within the editor.

Yes, IMHO, I believe goto and stuff should have tooltips too

I'll second the motion - On a greater scale I think all tool buttons should display keyboard shortcuts in the tooltips. It would be a good addition to a future version.

If something like this were added, why would you use tooltips? At least for the types of things where it can be done, the standard find is what should be used. That is pretty much standard in every windows program, I really don't see why mIRC should do it differently. However I still say it should just be in the helpfile.

The shortcut keys are in the dropdowns so why not the tooltips?

Well, it might screw up some programs, e.g. speech to text things. I had one (though I can't remember the name) that would let me use a shortcut of whatever the underlined letter was for the button to just say it, for example, if the button was "<u>S</u>ubmit Query" I just said "button S" and it would click the button. I don't know if such programs would be able to get that information out of a tooltip since thats not the standard way of doing it. The feature is useful for some things that have long text like, "I <u>A</u>ccept the license agreement" Instead of saying "radio I accept the license agreement" I just had to say "radio A" and it would check it. Since using a tooltip is not the way it is normally done, I doubt such programs would understand it, at least not without special code to support it.
