OP quackybogart Mostly harmless Q Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 1	I USE A CABLE MODEM TO CONECT TO MIRC AND HAVE JUST INSTALLED A ROUTER SO I CAN USE ALL MY COMUTERS OF 1 MODEM. BUT NOW WHEN I GO TO CONNECT TO MIRC I GET " CAN'T ASSIGN REQUESTED ADDRESS " CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE THANKS PIP

They get attacked quite frequently and have caused this 'can't assign requested address' problem as of recently. Try connecting under a different port, such as 6662 or 8000. Hope that helps. -Erik.

Please learn to use the Search feature and to read the bookmarked posts first. On that note, there's this post by Merlin that explains common IRC connection errors (among them the one that you're describing) and there's this thread that might help you find a server if you're encountering the error on DALnet.
