how to find out someone perform a whois on me?

You can't unless you're an oper, as far as I know.

Whois info is always sent by the server so there is no way for this to happen. As Poppy said, only opers (usermode +y where I am) can see this happen but that is because the server supports it. One thing about it, it's not the you-beaut function that people think it is. When you get some fool flood you with whois requests it gets waring after a while. I only leave it turned on because when an oper cops a whois from some stranger it usually means that trouble is about to occur.

Yea, you must be an oper on the IRC network to be able to see if a person used a /whois command on you. OR on a few networks i've seen an oper can actually turn it on for specific non oper nicks.

The majority or networks use a private notice that looks something like this.
[9:23pm] -xxx.xxx.xxx- *** Notice -- /WHOIS command used on you by: <censored> (xxx@xxx.xxx)
