Hi,

Just a general observation.. If you enter an identd with the /identd command that's over 10 characters long, then go into (mIRC Options > Connect > Identd), the one you did via the command is in the ident box even though it is over 10 characters. Being that the char limit of the identd box is 10 chars, shouldn't mirc trim it down to the first 10 chars?

Bleepy.

(sorry if this has already been posted.. hard to keep track with all the posts)

It's not really necessary. I would say that most, if not all, servers only accept the first ten characters but as a mechanism is already in place there's no real need to add another to mIRC. There are other limitations too, which once again the IRCd looks after, such as the use of a leading nought or many non alpha-numeric characters.

Actually, I witnessed a server that accepts idents greater than 10 characters. One of the early fizzer-bot mutations used very long idents that were apparent in a /whois on that server.
