Now I found an Alternative, a Java Based IRC.

But I'm having problems uploading it.

I'm using Netfirms, I've uploaded all the files, but it is not working it says. "Cab not loaded" So I tried a few other alternating ideas. Now I get a message saying "Why don't you just follow people's link ?"

Think you can help???

Also if its serious you can contact me

The person who is able to answer your question will probably prefer to respond to you here. That is the main idea of a forum. I don't know much about java applets myself, apart from CR's one which I can configure blindfolded, but I would do four things initially:

1. Read the instructions three times.
2. Make sure all of the files are uploaded
3. Double and triple check all HTML and any scripting to make sure it will fully support what you want to do.
4. Make sure that your webhost actually allows java applets. I can't see why they wouldn't but most free webhosts place severe restrictions on what they will allow and support including filetypes and indeed the size of the files.

5. Seek help on the web forum of the Java creator--not a mirc forum that has nothing to do with applets.

Probably due to the fact that both mIRC and jIRC connect to IRC. People may think that since they are somewhat similar in that general purpose (not completely but you know what I mean) so why not ask the mIRC forums for assistance...you bunch of know-it-alls! LMAO grin j/k...

Seeing as how you had to pay $50 for jIRC, why not get your money's worth and bug the guy you paid with your questions?

well simply uploading files in your site doesnot make the java applet work ... u must tell it where to look for your cab iles or .jar files ... most times this is done in a secondary file not even part of the .html file u have to visit to run your applet ... also it varies on applets of how they are setup .. ive not used jpilot as im not paying 50 bucks for something thats not really all the great ..... its just a regular blah applet ..... u can find others cheaper that have just as much ability and some more

Whats funny is people are paying $50 dollars to stop the "This is an unregistered version" message from echoing back each time you send text to the channel....and for it to say in the corner of the applet whether or not its registered....but it does get the job done I guess if thats what people look for....

Yea but jIRC is rather limiting, such as you can only join 1 channel. Other (free) java applets allow you to join multiple channels. Also jIRC opens query windows up as "desktop windows" which is kind of annoying, most of the free applets I know of have something similar to mIRC's switchbar which allows the query windows to be in something similar to MDI.

That is so true...but as I said, it gets the job done if someone were just interested in simplicity. But you have a very valid point though...
