Hi,

When a channel is highlighted on the left bar, that particular channel is highlighted in gray. Where is the setting to change this? I'd prefer it in blue, like how it used to be. Unsure what I've done to accidentally change this. This also affects 'Notices' windows

If I left click somewhere else on the left bar OR right click, it then highlights that window (either channel or notice) in blue, which is what I want by default

Using mIRC 7.79

Thanks

I see. Thanks for replying. Some feedback for anyone else who's reading : I hope this can be changed (or atleast given the option to) in the future. Having a gray selection on a black background is quite jarring, especially when you've got a lot of channels. It's hard to know what channel I'm in without double-checking each time.

Maybe there's something you could clarify though. From your thread, Khaled said "

Thanks again

Indeed, that is what I am seeing here as well. This is essentially the standard behaviour in Windows for list controls. If a control has focus, it shows the selected item in blue, and when it does not have focus, it shows the selected item in gray. mIRC was previously showing the selected item in blue all the time, even when the Treebar did not have focus. I have basically standardized the behaviour across controls as much as I can. I see the same behaviour here in Explorer, Thunderbird, Visual Studio, etc. That said, I also see a lot of non-standard behaviour in other applications, so it's not clear-cut. But I wanted to try to comply with the standard GUI behaviour as much as possible.

Sorry, I must be misunderstanding, because I'm seeing the opposite, I think.

If I click on any channel/query/notice window in the treebar, and it has focus, the highlight in the treebar is gray
If I click somewhere else on the treebar and lose focus (the chatbox cursor is no longer blinking), then the highlight is in blue (as before)

There is no way for me to chat in a channel or query and have it highlight blue in the treebar.

Just wanted to confirm if this is what you meant. Thanks again!

That sounds right. Clicking directly on an item in the Treebar makes that items' window active, which takes the focus away from the Treebar.

Thank you once again for replying! Is there a way I can change this, by any chance?

There is no way to change this behaviour currently.
