In short: on DCC completion > click Close > mIRC crashes/closes completely.

Thanks for your bug report. I have not been able to reproduce this issue so far.

If you install a clean copy of mIRC to an empty folder with no settings/scripts/addons/etc. and test this again, due you still see the same issue?

Tried only with the mirc.ini in the folder and it crashed, when I click the Close button it thinks about it for a second then mIRC closes completely.

It's in portable mode also:

OS version:
Windows 11 Education 24H2 (26100.2605)

I meant the mirc.ini only has the portable mode line in it, completely empty.

Thanks for testing. I still haven't been able to reproduce this here.

If you set Windows to light mode, then run beta, and then close the DCC Send/Get window by clicking the "Close" button, do you see the same issue?

I assume that this does not happen for you with v7.78?

I am also testing beta version 7.78.6786 on Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (OS build 26100.2605) the DCC Send/Get and have not been able to reproduce this bug in both light/dark modes.

I also tested it in version 7.78 and was unable to reproduce it.

mirc.ini with only the registration and portable mode line:

mIRC 7.78 with Windows in Light Mode: OK
mIRC 7.78 with Windows in Dark Mode: OK

mIRC Beta with Windows in Light Mode: Crash
mIRC Beta with Windows in Dark Mode: Crash

Tested on my son's computer, brand new just finished setting it up 2 days ago, same crash on the new Beta, same Windows Education version.

Thanks! I was able to reproduce this. It was not related to dark mode but to a change that handles how windows are closed. This has been fixed for the next beta.

Thank you! I was going to test it with another computer with Windows 10 Education or setup some VMs, glad we caught this one before the next beta.
