This option setting does not work.
Tested on mIRC 7.77 on two different networks.

Regards.

Thanks for your bug report. I have tested this here and it is working as expected. Can you describe a step by step method that reproduces this for you?

Note that this feature works in a very specific context as described in versions.txt:

20.Added "Hide away reminders" option to IRC/Options dialog that hides repeat away messages in active query windows for ten minutes.

This means that repeat away messages are hidden in query windows.

Away messages are not hidden in any other windows/contexts.

1. Clean mIRC and mirc.ini.
2. Setting "Hide away reminder" is unset.
3. Open Query for some nickname.
4. Send an custom message.
5. Now we see his away status/message in Status Window (raw301).
6. Go to options and set "Hide away reminder" without closing Query.
7. Send some another messages to same nickname without closi. More than one.
8. Still we see away status/message in Status Window.

I can make a video. Just let me know.

Thanks - that is the intended behaviour. This feature hides repeat away messages in query windows.

I understand. Show in active: Away - option should be checked together with "Hide away reminders" then it works as it should. Sorry for the inconvenience then.
Also, wouldn't it be more convenient for it not to display in the status window for 10 minutes also? Every time you send a message you see the status away in Status Window.

There was a discussion about this here.

Brax makes some good points about the various hide options.

In this case, the away message serves an important purpose. As a compromise, I added the hide away reminder option to hide messages for 10 minutes in a very specific context, ie. in query windows during a conversation.

That said, this does mean that the feature will only work if you have enabled "Show away in active window" and you are in a query window at the time, which limits its usefulness. I will see if I can extend the contexts it works in, but it will still be hidden for 10 minutes at most.

In the latest beta version 7.77.1065, the “Hide Away Reminders” option now works brilliantly and understandably for everyone - no messing around with “Show in Active”. Hides what it is supposed to hide for a period of 10 minutes. Tested, turning it on and off accordingly (here immediately the away message will display as it should). Correspondingly function will work when using /describe, /msg without the Query window open.

On behalf of the one-man unit throughout the community.... thank you.

Regards.
